Sara M. Khan
At our mediation practice, we believe that conflict can be resolved with clarity, compassion, and dignity. We provide a supportive, structured space for families and individuals to navigate challenging conversations and reach agreements that honor everyone’s needs.
Since her graduation from law school in 2016, Sara Khan has built a career grounded in thoughtful advocacy, strategic problem-solving, and a deep commitment to helping individuals and families navigate complex transitions with clarity and confidence.
Sara’s academic foundation combines business acumen with legal training. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Management from George Mason University in 2012, a background that continues to inform her pragmatic, solutions-oriented approach to legal and conflict-resolution matters. She went on to earn her Juris Doctor from the University of the District of Columbia David A. Clarke School of Law in 2016, where she refined her focus on advocacy, negotiation, and client-centered legal practice.
Throughout her career, Sara has worked at the intersection of law, strategy, and human dynamics. She brings a calm, measured presence to emotionally charged matters and is known for her ability to distill complex issues into clear, actionable paths forward. Her work emphasizes resolution over escalation whenever possible, prioritizing outcomes that preserve dignity, minimize conflict, and support long-term stability for the families and individuals she serves.
Sara believes strongly in resolving disputes through structured dialogue, negotiation, and mediation when appropriate — approaches that often save time, reduce financial and emotional costs, and allow for more customized, durable solutions. When a more formal or adversarial approach is required, she remains prepared, focused, and unwavering in her commitment to protecting her clients’ interests.
Outside of her professional life, Sara values time spent with her family most of all. She enjoys travel, interior design, and exploring new restaurants with her husband and their two boys.
